The Practices of Neighbor Love, with Amar Peterman

Time:

3:00pm Central Europe & Western Africa (4:00pm Palestine & Central Africa Time, 2:00pm UK, 9:00am USA Eastern, 7:30pm India Time)

Meeting Theme:

Living out the call to love our neighbors seems simple enough; that is, until we have to encounter the complex realities of those around us. Despite the frequency with which we invoke neighbor love, Christians often fail to name how they might actually love their neighbors who are different from them. In this conversation, we will dive into why this is the case by examining the role of desire in seeking peace and a common good and then turning to several longstanding practices of neighbor love like compassion, lamentation, and humility, and also translation, resonance, and accompaniment.
