<image:title>Meetings - Reimagining Peace: From Peacebuilding to the Common Good, with Bishop Zac Niringiye - Bishop Zac Niringiye</image:title>
<image:caption>Bishop Zac Niringiye is a Ugandan theologian, retired Anglican Bishop, and a widely respected voice in global conversations on faith, justice, and the church’s public witness. His work spans pastoral ministry, theological education, social justice activism, and organizational leadership, shaped by decades of engagement across Africa, Europe, and North America. Rooted in his lived experience in East Africa—and formed through both African and Western theological contexts—Zac brings a perspective that is both deeply grounded and prophetically unsettling. He is known for asking difficult questions about the relationship between Christianity and power, particularly how dominant expressions of the faith have often been entangled with the logics of empire: control, hierarchy, and the subjugation of the “other.” Rather than offering easy critiques from a distance, Zac invites the church into honest soul-searching. He challenges assumptions about “ministry,” “mission,” and even “peacebuilding,” urging a shift away from frameworks that center control or institutional success, and toward a more faithful embodiment of the gospel. At the heart of his vision is a call to recover a faith that is rooted in justice, love, and the way of the cross, not as an abstract vision, but one that takes seriously the call to be present with those who suffer and to question systems of harm. Zac’s voice is both deeply pastoral and sharply prophetic—marked by wisdom, honesty, and a disarming invitation to live truthfully before God and others.</image:caption>

He is an author, sought-after speaker, and consultant for some of the leading faith-based organizations and institutions in the United States. His first book, Becoming Neighbors: The Common Good Made Local releases next Spring with Eerdmans Publishing Company. In all his writing, research, and scholarship, Amar seeks to equip the Christian church to engage faithfully, critically, and constructively in the complex issues of our religious and civic life today through beautiful and compelling theology that emphasizes the nuanced lived reality of Christians and is modeled after the concrete person of Jesus Christ. Amar was adopted from northern India and raised in the cornfields of Northeast Wisconsin. He moved to downtown Chicago to attend Moody Bible Institute where he earned a degree in Theology. At MBI, Amar served as President of the Student Theological Society and Teaching Assistant to Dr. Ashish Varma. After MBI, Amar moved to the East Coast, where he earned a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Amar's program concentrated on public theology and American religious history under renowned historian, Heath W. Carter. There, he served as a Research and Teaching Assistant to Drs. Carter and Raimundo César Barreto, Vice-President of the seminary’s Asian Association, and Editor of Lived Theology in Asian America, a publication of the Center for Asian American Christianity. Amar is currently a PhD student at the University of Chicago, working at the Divinity School there in the Theology Area. His current project examines the use of Christian doctrine through a pragmatist lens that is informed by Ludwig Wittgenstein, Richard Rorty, Robert Brandom, and Kevin W. Hector. Before founding Scholarship for Religion and Society, LLC, Amar served as Assistant Director at Neighborly Faith and then Director of the Center for Empathy in Christian and Public Life at the Ideos Institute. He also was a Columnist at Sojourners Magazine from 2021-2023. Today, Amar continues to write regularly to both online magazines like Sojourners and the Christian Century, as well as essay collections including Theology and the Office (Lexington Books), Emerging, Awake, and Connected (SCM Press). Amar is the Civic Strategies Speicalist at Interfaith America (formerly Interfaith Youth Core), the largest multifaith NGO in the United State. In this role, he oversees Interfaith America's Good Neighbors Project. Following in the vision of the organization, in this role Amar works to inspire, equip, and connect leaders and institutions to unlock the potential of America’s religious diversity. <image:caption>Born in Sarajevo in the 1980’s, Mirela had a front row seat to the breakup of Yugoslavia and the siege of Sarajevo. In her twenties, Mirela realized that the war impacted her more deeply than she had previously acknowledged, and this realization launched her into an introspective journey to grapple with and heal from her own trauma. This individual healing process clarified her sense of personal calling and mission: to work for individual and collective healing through mental health and peacebuilding work. She has over 10 years of experience working in both for-profit and non-profit sectors in project coordination, program management, training, facilitation, and translation. She is a Gestalt Psychotherapist under supervision and practicing trauma therapist so that she might address unengaged trauma manifesting in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) as depression, anxiety, and addictions. She is currently a Peace Catalyst International team member and an affiliate trainer with Trauma Free World.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Meetings - Trauma-Informed Approaches to Faith & Peacebuilding - Mirela Popaja-Hadžić</image:title>
She is currently specializing in Gestalt Psychotherapy to become a trauma therapist to more effectively address the unengaged trauma manifesting in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) as depression, anxiety, and addictions. She is also an affiliate trainer with Trauma Free World and holds a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Sarajevo.</image:caption>

He is also a founding member of the African Peace Warriors Network, formally known as the Pan African Peace Network. He lives with the conviction that God’s peacebuilding mission forms the basic essence of Christianity and that we participate in the Kingdom of God as we pursue peace: peace with God, self, neighbors, and the world. This all-encompassing peace is the core of what Christians are called to work for in the world.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Meetings - Decolonizing Faith & Peace Work - Jebaraj S C</image:title>
<image:caption>Jebaraj pastors Faith Church of God, a nondenominational church in Chennai, India, where he lives with his beautiful wife Nancy and their two daughters. He received his M.Div from Hindustan Bible Institute (HBI) Chennai and was ordained by the Indian National Evangelical Churches in the year 2000. In addition to pastoring, he worked with the Inter-Collegiate Prayer Fellowship (ICPF) in the Tamilnadu State of India from 2001 to 2011 while also studying to obtain his MA and M.Phil in Christian Studies. Over the last two decades, Jebaraj’s faith has shifted significantly, and he now believes the focus for Christians should be peacebuilding in the midst of all the religious divisions and conflicts around us. Christian priorities to proselytize and convert their neighbors contribute significantly to interpersonal and intergroup hostilities and even political “othering” of Christians on the communal and national level. Instead, Christians must learn to build peace in order to live as blessings for their neighbors and communities.</image:caption>
